Approaching The Home Stretch

We’re putting the finishing touches on the new record this week. It kinda makes me with that there was some way to construct an alarm that would let you know when you have a song sounding as good as it’s going to sound. We have the tendency to be chronic tinkerers in the studio, which often works to our advantage, but the tough part is knowing when to stop and put the stamp of approval on a song. It would be really cool to say that there’s always some magical moment of clarity in which the skies part and angelic voices signal the pinnacle of artistry for each track, but that has only happened a couple times…and it was really late so we may have been slightly delusional. At the end of the day we just hope that what we put to tape captures our vision of what these songs mean to us… or at least gives you the highlights. Our time of transition from the studio to the road is near at hand. I’m very much ready to get back on the road, and even more ready for y’all to hear what we’ve been working on for the last few months! I’ll let you know when I work out all the bugs in my song perfection alarm.
