It’s quite a lovely day here in Chicago. We’ve been here for a few days now, frankly because Chicago is our favorite city to have days off when we’re on the road. We rolled in from Philly just in time to check in to our hotel and walk down Michigan Ave. to catch the end of Lollapalooza. As someone who spent his formative years in the 90′s salivating over the opportunity to see so many bands in the same place, it was a bit of a bucket list moment for me. We headed straight to the mainstage, anxious to get a good spot to see the mighty Foo Fighters. We blazed a trail through the sea of people covered in mud, sporting their filthy clothes like badges of honor, to claim our place among the 90,000 plus rock’n'roll fanatics. The Foo came on to a roar of appreciation and ripped into their first song. It was my first time seeing them, and they did not disappoint. It was HUGE!!!! I must say, my hat is off to Sir David Grohl and company. They grabbed you from the first note and they didn’t let up, even through the torrential downpour that started after the fourth song. Thanks for the lesson, guys. Much appreciated.
