I have a new favorite place in Cincinnati… the 20th Century Theater. We rolled into town on Thursday to play our first headlining show of the summer. We’re throwing these shows in throughout the summer and fall to make sure we stay connected with y’all. Plus it’s good to have shows where we can do whatever we want. The Cincinnati show came on the heels of several nights of fully-rehearsed 35 minute sets, so we were ready to go off the page. Our good buddy Matthew Mayfield was kind enough to drive up from B-ham with a van full of dirty rockers to share the stage with us. I love doing shows with Matthew, cause it challenges us to really be on our game. We sat down to make the setlist before the show and when we were done, perhaps as part of some sort of headlining catharsis, we had crafted our longest setlist ever. I’d like to say that we played flawlessly, but the truth is it was a little on the sloppy side. But that’s what made it so fun. We were in a small venue with about 400 people who were ready to have a good time, and that’s one of the best feelings in the world. I can’t wait to do it again. Y’all keep your eyes peeled for the next one, cause I guarantee we’re gonna want to keep these going.

Hey Joe,
Stumbled across this today… Seeing as you will be in town again tonight, I cannot explain how excited my wife and I are to see you all again, and this time in a much bigger venue than ever before. If this is the last time we get to see you with the band, I hope you make/take many more great memories of Cincinnati with you tonight! Oh, and don’t be afraid to drop a stick into the middle of the fifth row of the pit…
God Bless,
