Well, folks, we’re getting ready to start our biggest tour yet… the Young and Far from Home Tour! This is going to be a whole new level of live experience for us. There’s so much happening on this tour we had to get a tractor-trailer to contain it all! It all kicks off tomorrow night in Columbia, SC. But not only are we taking the show to another level, we’re also giving you a brand new way to get involved. As a band, we’ve always worked tirelessly to do things in a way that remains true to our beliefs and allows for the most benefit for the people around us. The integrity of our music and our actions is always in the forefront of our minds as we strive to create art that somehow enriches the lives of those who experience it. That is why we are incredibly excited about our new partnership with Palmetto Medical Initiative. PMI is an organization based in our hometown of Charleston, SC, that works side by side with the people of Uganda, providing essential medical care and training and building medical facilities. They work on the ground level, one on one with Ugandans to daily improve people’s lives in a country impoverished by war and disease. PMI will be joining us this Fall on our Young and Far from Home Tour. They will have tables set up at the shows where you can get more information on Palmetto Medical Initiative and talk to someone about how you can get involved. In addition, we are creating a limited edition run of exclusive NEEDTOBREATHE/PMI posters, which will only be available at these shows. The proceeds will go directly towards helping the people of Uganda. Each show of the tour will have its own unique poster featuring classic artwork and images from NEEDTOBREATHE’s past, and even self portraits from each band member. We can’t wait to see y’all out on the road, and please join us in our support of Palmetto Medical Initiative. For more information visit www.palmettomedical.org or better yet… stop by their table at one of the shows.
